Deleted the app since urbanspoon disappeared. Nice going Zomato
This used to be a great app when it was Urbanspoon. Now it has very few recent reviews. Looking for a new app like most people have already done.
Zomato took over urban spoon years ago... Why is this app still available... Its just a page that tells you to get the other app, which by the way is terrible. Just get yelp or guess, youll have more luck finding a good place to eat.
Since buying Urbanspoon, Zomato removed lots of great features from Urbanspoon and generally downgraded the service & app. Weve seen this a number of times, where a great service gets purchased and then "fixed" even though it was not broken. Its a terrible business move, but sometimes the companies that do the buying have more money than sense. ...Over a year later, Zomato has ruined Urbanspoon. I have switched to TripAdvisor and find it much more useful that Zomato.
What a terrible app that they say to update but when the app loads they say its not supported anymore and Zomato needs to be downloaded and used.
They make you download an update to urban spoon which forces you to Zomato. Urban spoon was a great simple and effective app. $$$ is what its all about and getting rid of a highly rated and useful app. This is beyond despicable. Zomato will never be on my mobile devices or others in my social circles.
Love this app
ITS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!
I love urban spoon, i am new to the city and urban spoon really helps on your descovery and avoids huge disappointments and rip offs!
You cant miss this app if youre searching for a nice place to go!
The title pretty must expresses my thoughts. This is a case of taking a simple useful app and stirring in an overage of "social medial" crap to come up with an app that is difficult to use and is frankly not useful. Great going guys.
Wow. First you kill of a great app, then you leave the dead app in the App Store so when people download it, it directs them to your new, poorly designed app? Thats a new low.
This app is cool, but I want to review places that arent on here. Like, my mom dragged me off to my Aunt Carols for a stupid funeral dinner thing last week, and I had no way to know beforehand that she puts walnuts in brownies. PS: if you want the rating for Aunt Carols "crappy brownies with walnuts because Uncle Gregg used to love them that way and I miss him so much," its negative a billion stars out of five.
I have no gripes with the app. Just reviewing to inform people this is not functional anymore. Go to the Zomato app instead. Its the same app by the same people, they just rebranded. If you download this, theyll just point you there anyway. So save yourself the step and just search for Zomato.
Goodbye, Urbanspoon. You were the best, reliable and with an unusual and worthwhile rating system. Zomatos app falls far short of your standards.
I have tried to be open minded. Since I enjoyed Urban Spoon so much, I said, "OK, Ill give Zomato a try." Zomato is still a total piece of schiess! It amazes me that the "not invented here syndrome" killed the best things about Urban Spoon - an app that I valued and used constantly over Google Reviews, Yelp, and FourSquare. There is NOTHING like the quick, intuitive, spot on searching offered by Urban Spoon. In fact, it is as if the Luddites looked at everything successful about US and said lets do the opposite.
Despite having an active connection to write this review, the app says I dont have one and cant save a location. Thusly, you have been deleted.
Dont eat breakfast there, no silverware and had to ask for coffee three times. Biscuits were dry and stale. Maybe lunch but not ready for prime time breakfast.
Its not a good sign. Urbanspoon was great. It is no more.
It is impossible to reconcile the total destruction of a very useful app. Its almost as if the app developers live in a place where restaurants do not exist. This app is a disaster by any measure but compared to Urban Spoon it is a cataclysmic embarrassment. I tried to use it once and deleted it immediately. $60mil down the drain.
